YOUR ROLE

As Senior Accountant, you are part of our global corporate Finance & Legal team, which is the beating heart of all financial management and operations at InSites Consulting. Our teams are currently based in Ghent (Belgium), Manchester (U.K.) and Timisoara (Romania). You, together with the co-located team, will further strengthen and build our rapidly growing corporate Finance & Legal team in our office in Ghent.

In your role as Senior Accountant you take a unique position of taking ownership for the AZ accounting of one or more of the InSites Consulting group companies. You will have a variety of accountabilities, taking ownership of the general accounting operations, controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Your responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. It is your responsibility to prepare the company monthly closing statement to ensure a smooth consolidation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with your Accounting Administrator colleagues in our Timisoara office who manage the initial administrative processing of invoices and bank statements
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings
  • Payroll accounting and reconciliations
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciations
  • Deferred and accrued costs
  • Accountable for VAT declarations & related reports
  • Produce error-free accounting reports
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures in collaboration with local fiscal and financial advisors
  • Preparation of the statutory annual accounts
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Direct external audits to ensure compliance



YOUR PROFILE

Your expertise

  • Degree in finance and accounting, or a similar relevant field
  • Preferably at least 5 years of experience in a corporate accounting role
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge (especially Excel)
