Digital Field Manager (Data Collection Manager)

YOUR ROLE


As Digital Field Manager you are a member of Project Services, based in Johannesbrug: a multi-disciplinary team managing research projects from A to Z, from initial set-up to preparing client-ready deliverables. You will support projects for cool companies such as Multi-Choice, Old Mutual, Momentum and Beiersdorf.

As Digital Field Manager, you coordinate and manage the whole digital data collection process to meet research project’s specifications, on time and within budget and you ensure quality and reliability of the respondents’ data.

You will be involved in providing input, advice and support to quantitative and qualitative researchers and data analysts during proposal phase as well as project setup where quota or samples are designed.


YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


Select and invite panel members

  • Critically evaluating and advising on all feasibility requests of research projects at InSites Consulting South Africa
  • Receiving the data collection briefs from the Research Consultants              
  • Planning field management aligned with research operational requirements                            
  • Setting up and implementing data collection delivery timelines and effective sampling plans
  • Conducting robust QA testing on surveys, emails, project setup before field launch
  • Creating panel projects, list projects, web links on the InSites Consulting South Africa platform(s) in line with the project brief
  • Creating samples based on the research’s objectives and as per the approved sampling plans
  • Managing the data collection stage: launching surveys, sending invites, and reminders to ensure targets are reached within the specified timeframes

Monitor field progress

  • Assessing the response rate, incidence rate after soft-launch and update the sampling plan accordingly before proceeding with the full-launch
  • Assessing field updates and providing recommendations to best achieve specified objectives
  • Identifying data collection challenges and risks and developing risk mitigation plans and providing alternate solutions
  • Providing daily updates to research’s stakeholders and communicating field performance and data collection milestones
  • Managing the project closure process by notifying the stakeholders when target is reached and close the project with confirmation of the stakeholders
  • Exporting data in the format specified in the project brief and providing the data to the Data Analyst
  • Providing monthly digital field performance report of all projects to management and provides recommendations for better project outcome


YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences or Information Technology or a similar field
  • Preferably 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Research industry knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional aptitude for data interrogation and automation
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and persistence to find answers to questions
  • Ability to autonomously manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced business environment
